HUBLI: Chief Minister Dharam Singh has called upon industrialists to come forward and set up their units in north Karnataka for the over all development of the region.

He was speaking after inaugurating the new building of the Institute of Management Studies and Research of KLE Society at Vidyanagar, Hubli here on Monday.

Inviting the industrialist Baba Kalyani, Chairman, Bharat Forge Ltd, Pune and others, to focus on North Karnataka region to extend the industrial activities here, for its growth and to create employment opportunities for the people of the region and to help the state in the process of industrial development.

Lauding the services of KLE society in the field of education in the state and North Karnataka region in particular, he said that people of other organisations and societies should bring in changes in the way of teaching and in the field of education in state.

Speaking on the occasion Baba Kalyani, industrialist said that automotive components business units will shortly be started in Hubli-Dharwad for the development of industrial activities.

He said that Bharat Forge had already invested about Rs 800 to 900 crore in Karnataka state by starting its business units in Hospet, Koppal, Mysore.

He said that India will have about more 200 million trained professionals and resource persons in the next 20 years which will further make India one of the key player in the global market.

Deputy Chief Minister M.P. Prakash said that talents of the students of North Karnataka region should be tapped in effective way.

Prabhakar .B. Kore, Chairman board of management KLE Society, Belgaum welcomed the gathering.

Ministers H.K. Patil, Basavaraj Horatti, Jabbharkhan Honnalli, Director, IMSR Dr. T. Rangrajan, B.S. Gavimath, Dr. Ashok Shettar, Prinicipal, BVB college, KCCI president Shankranna Munavalli, S.R. Morey, district incharge minister and others were present.
