HUBLI: A team of Airport Authority of India, Chennai, will be visiting Hubli on June 8 to work out a Master Plan on upgrading the Hubli airport to national standard. According to a press release issued here on Saturday by Prahlad Joshi, Member of Parliament, the AAI authorities would conduct a two-day survey to acquire additional 386 acres of land with the assistance of the district administration.

The AAI team includes I N Murthy, deputy general manager (planning), S Biswas, deputy general manager (engineering) of Chennai and M N N Rao, deputy general manager (architecture), AAI Mangalore.

In this regard, Joshi has instructed Deputy Commissioner M S Srikar to take necessary steps. He has instructed the district administration to depute required staff to assist the AAI team during the survey.

He said as a result of the meeting attended by Jagadish Shettar and himself with the AAI authorities on May 8, the AAI, Chennai had sent a team of officials to work out a Master Plan on Hubli airport and this initiative would be a landmark in the efforts of upgrading the Hubli airport to national standard.
