Forum to hold seminar on NK problems

HUBLI: Karnataka Development Forum, Hubli, has decided to conduct a state-level seminar in the first week of October, to discuss the genuine problems faced by all districts of North Karnataka region in Dharwad.

Chief Minister Dharam Singh has given his consent to attend the seminar and to spare time for discussing the long pending demands and problems faced by North Karnataka.

In a press release Dr Patil Puttappa, president of the Forum said main problems faced by Begalum district, Dharwad, Bijapur, Karwar, Gadag, Bagalkot, Haveri, Koppal, Raichur, Gulbarga, Bidar and other districts of North Karntaka region, would be discussed during the seminar, which was expected to be held before Gandhi Jayanti.

Apart from these districts, problems of Davangere and Shimoga districts that were adjacent to North Karnataka would also be discussed in the seminar, he said.

He said apart from discussing various economic problems the participants would suggest remedies and solutions to the problems faced by the region.

He said only limited number of people upto 50 members would be allowed to attend the seminar.

Besides, an expert from each district of the region would be allowed to participate in the meeting, who would submit papers on various issues and genuine problems faced by all the districts of the region.

Main issues including problems of agriculture, industries, weavers, infrastructure facilities, tourism, irrigation projects, railway, employment and other genuine problems would be discussed.

On behalf of the people of this region, forum had already sent letters to the experts and participants requesting them to attend the seminar to give their valuable suggestions for the development of the region, he added.
