DHARWAD: A 10-day Kalavaibhava industrial exhibition will be organised from September 9 by district administration in association with district industrial centre at the Glass house.

Disclosing this to reporters here on Tuesday, M S Srikar, Deputy Commissioner, said the exhibition aimed at providing suitable platform for small scale industries and self-help groups to popularise their products by displaying them at the exhibition.

It also aimed to bridge the gap between manufacturers of industrial products and consumers by establishing direct link between consumers and manufacturers, he added.

About 80 stalls would be set up – khadi and village industries board would set up 10 stalls, KHDC 2, KSHDC handicrafts 1, Textile Department 1, self- help groups 12, cane and bamboo industries society 4 and Tiny Industries (Women and Artisan) would set up 30 stalls.

Handicraft, Handloom, Khadi, Pottery, cane and bamboo products, garments and other products manufactured by SSIs and SHGs will be on display, he said adding that around 95 participants will display their products.

The exhibition would be inaugurated by District Minister S R Morey, he added.

S B Bommanalli, HQA and others officers were present at the press conference.
