DHARWAD: Chief Minister Dharam Singh will visit Dharwad to participate in the concluding ceremony of the four-day Krishi mela organised by University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS), Dharwad on Sunday, October 2.

The mela was drawing huge crowd since its inauguration. Thousands of people including farmers, students from different parts of the districts and other neighbouring districts and states were visiting to mela.

About 400 stalls had been put up in the mela by various seeds, fertilisers, automobile companies to display their products and to provide information to the visiting farmers.

Innovative machines invented by the scientists to carry out agricultural activities in systematic way to earn good profit, good quality seeds of various crops, fertilisers and other important equipments and goods required for the farmers were on display in the mela.

According to sources from University of Agricultural Sciences, lakhs of people had visited the mela and took the best advantage of mela.

Apart from collecting information from the various shops, many of the farmers purchased plants, equipments, seeds, fertilisers, and other materials from the mela, sources said.

Four-day mela will conclude on Sunday. The Chief Minister will inaugurate the concluding ceremony.

Large number of people is expected to visit the mela during the last day from various districts.
