HUBLI: Revenue Minister Jagadish Shettar has said that the mini Vidhana Soudha will be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 crore on the present tahshildar’s office premises here.

Addressing a news conference organised by the Hubli Working Journalists Union here on Wednesday, Shettar said about Rs 2.5 crore would be sanctioned immediately to construct the mini Vidhana Soudha on the said premises which was currently in a dilapidated condition.

The government had taken all the steps to ensure the success of the Information Technology Investors meet scheduled to be held here on May 20, which expected participation of around 150 companies, he said.

Accusing former chief minister, N Dharam Singh of excluding Hubli-Dharwad from the JNURM project, he said the coalition government was committed to safeguard and develop north Karnataka.

Keshav Nadakarni welcomed and Mallikarjun N Siddannavar proposed a vote of thanks.

Gururaj Joshi, president of the Union, presided.

Senior journalists, M L Kapur, Shyam Sundar Vattam, Kanavalli, Arun Kumar Habbu, Girish Pattanashetti and H R Raghavendra were present.
