HC bench: Advocates on the rampage

Dharwad: Enraged by the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation’s(HDMC) resolution urging the government to set up the proposed Circuit Bench of High Court in the New Town, the advocates of Dharwad on Friday staged a dharna in front of Corporation office.
The angry advocates also went on rampage breaking the window panes of the Corporation office. They also locked all the offices after sending out all the employees out of the corporation. Earlier in the day the council meeting had passed an unanimous resolution urging the government to establish the circuit bench at a site situated between Hubli and Dharwad cities.
The advocates also sought an explanation from Mayor Hanumanthappa Betageri as to why such a resolution was adopted.
