Website to boost investors’ meet

Hubli: A website, www.destinationhubli.in, would be launched soon to facilitate the investors’ meet to be held here on May 20. This would provide full information about Hubli as the destination for investments in Information Technology and ITeS sector.

The event will be organised by the Consortium of District Administration along with Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, KEONICS and IT-Department with the cooperation of the State government. Local engineering colleges and BIC Society, a society constituted for marketing Hubli-Dharwad in IT space, have shown special interest in the event.

In a press release, KCCI IT Committee chairman Santosh Huralikoppi said that the State government and CM Kumaraswamy have shown interest in making the meet a success by attracting potential investments in the Information Technology, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Biotechnology spaces.

More than 150 delegates from various large, medium and small companies have been invited and there have been positive responses from a few of them. Special arrangements for travel and stay have been made for the delegates.

Santosh said that the incentives announced by the Chief Minister Kumaraswamy for Hubli IT Park have started showing positive results. Neilsoft, a Pune based company with over 500 employees, has taken over a Hubli based company and is starting its operations in IT Park with 10,000 square feet space. Local entrepreneurs and industrialists, who were trying to diversify into IT and BPO space, were looking forward for investors meet, the release added.
