DHARWAD: Chief Minister Dharam Singh has ruled out dropping or changing of any of ministers from the state cabinet. Speaking to reporters before attending the Krishi mela at KUD helipad here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said all the performance of all the ministers was satisfactory, thus there was no question of dropping or changing any ministers.

He said, ‘‘There has been no opposition from anyone in the state Congress against my leadership. But there is a demand that youths be given an opportunity in the party.’’

He clarifed that the Congress leaders who had submitted a memorandum separately to the AICC general secretary and incharge of state A K Antony, had discussed those matters well in adavance with them. It was true that some leaders led by former ministers R L Jalappa and Kumar Bangarappa had submitted memorandums to A K Antony during his recent visit to the state. ‘‘Before submitting it, they have brought that memorandum to the notice of me and the KPCC president,’’ he said.

When asked about the party’s stand on the Congress leaders participating in Ahind conventions, he said the issue had been discussed with party’s incharge A K Antony. KPCC president Mallikarjun Kharge had also been given direction by A K Antony to take further steps in this regard, he said. He said the issue of Cabinet expansion was also brought to the notice of A K Antony and steps would be taken for Cabinet expansion shortly.

Deputy chief minister M P Prakash, Ministers S R Morey, K Srinivasgouda were present at the press conference.
